TV Advert Evaluation

TV Advert Evaluation

The Brief

The idea of the advert was to have a 1970's Gangster-esque style to the piece. We were thinking of having the pot noodle as the focus of a deal between the two characters - one being more of an intimidated protagonist and the other being an intimidating antagonist. We decided to use Pot Noodle because it is a consumable item in which could be traded. We decided it is easily portable and so it would be the best to store in a duffel bag during the advert.
We decided that the current audience would be males of around our age and up due to the darker setting which may be confusing to a younger audience, as the humor of the advert may not connect with them.

The Finished Product and Feedback

The feedback was mainly positive, with the subtle humor being well received - although constructive criticism was also given. Some of the shots were said to be inconsistent with lighting as well as slightly grainy. Despite this, the overall camera work and story line were given positive feedback.
I feel like we managed to get our main message across to out audience, with the story line being for a slightly older audience than the pot noodle adverts at the moment. I feel like the positive outlook on the old-school gangster films (with the addition to humor) would allow our target audience to understand that it is aimed towards them as it is more of a young-adult style humor.
